Our Story

The Emory Muay Thai Team was created in 2021 by three undergraduates with a deep passion for the art of Muay Thai. Our principles are focused on spreading the nuanced traditions of Muay Thai while garnering the mindset of champions.

1. Create a team atmosphere that supports maximal development of the personal and physical goals of each member.

2. Provide a non intimidating point of entry into the world of self-defense, martial arts, and physical activity.

3. Increase members’ ability to resolve conflicts nonviolently by simultaneously increasing confidence in self-defense and awareness to the dangers of combat.

4. Learn and effectively utilize the basic techniques of Muay Thai.

5. Strictly enforce a safe and injury free environment.

6. Expose members to the nuanced traditions of Muay Thai to shed light on discussions of the Thai people and the AAPI population in general.

7. Spread the art of Muay Thai to the general Atlanta population.
